DirectionsStack the tissue paper and cut 1-inch strips. Then cut each strip into 1-inch squares.Trace a large heart shape onto the poster board. Cut out the heart shape (this is a great job for children, ages pre-K and up). Trace a smaller heart shape with a pencil in the middle of the heart cut-out. Fill the smaller heart with white craft glue. Place a square of white tissue paper around the end of a pencil eraser. Twist the square around the eraser and dot it onto the glue. Continue until the entire middle is filled with white tissue paper "flowers". Repeat this process with the pink paper for the outside heart. If children are not able to twist the paper around the eraser, let them wad up the square and place it on the glue. Author CommentsHearts and flowers: Two of the most ubiquitous symbols of love. Using tissue paper, poster board and craft glue, your little one can create an original flowering heart. This craft is ideal for children 5 years and up, who can comfortably use scissors. For younger children, you can precut the tissue paper squares and assist with gluing. |
