Bring some color into your loved ones lives. Materials & ToolsCrayon pieces (save all those broken pieces that your kids refuse to color with anymore)Heart-shaped cookie or muffin tin -- the silicon kind work best Pam spray Scrap paper Clear cellophane wrapping paper, ribbon |

DirectionsPreheat the oven to 250°.Fill each mold with crayon pieces about ¾ full. If you are using a non-stick pan, as opposed to a silicon pan, spray each cup liberally with Pam. You may want to separate like colors (red and pinks together, blues and green together) or you might prefer a full rainbow mix. Experiment with both styles to see which you like best. Put the filled tray in the oven and cook until the crayons melt, approximately 10 to 15 minutes. You may want to put a cookie sheet under the muffin tin to catch any drips. Remove from the oven and let cool thoroughly (30-60 minutes). Remove hearts from the mold. Smooth any rough edges by rubbing them against a piece of scrap paper. If the crayons are for gift bags, wrap up one or two in a cellophane gift bag. Tie with ribbon and finish with a Valentine's Day Card that reads: "You make my heart burst with color!" Author CommentsThis project is the perfect way to bring some color into your loved ones lives. These little heart-shaped crayons make an ideal gift for Valentine's Day party goody bags, too. |
