This sponge painting method is easy enough for anyone, even young children, to master and enjoy. Materials & ToolsThin, dry spongesHard-boiled eggs (enough for 2-3 eggs per person) Scissors Watercolor paints Egg holder (empty cardboard egg carton will work fine) |
||||
DirectionsCut the sponges into small triangles. Dip the tip of the sponge into the water, then dab it into the paint color you want.Hold the egg in one hand, braced between your thumb and index finger, and lightly dab the painted sponge onto the egg with your other hand. Do not rub the sponge on the egg; just dab it. By dabbing you will create a pleasant textured effect. Rubbing will dull the colors. Allow the egg to dry between each color application. Continue adding colors until you are satisfied with the look of your egg. Let eggs dry completely. Store in the refrigerator in a cardboard carton to avoid chipping. |
